The Dangers of Ecumenism
Shalom! Happy Sabbath!
John 17:17 *Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.*
The truth is powerful. It sanctifies us when we embrace it. The Holy Spirit uses the truth to bring about sanctification in our lives. Truth delivers us from the power of sin. It enables us to have victory over all our besetting sins.
Christ is the truth. When we become one with Christ, we are set free from sins.
*Sin can triumph only by enfeebling the mind, and destroying the liberty of the soul. Subjection to God is restoration to one's self,—to the true glory and dignity of man. The divine law, to which we are brought into subjection, is “the law of liberty.” James 2:12.* (Desire of Ages 466.5)
The Ecumenical Movement, which originated from Vatican II, encourages Christian denominations to prioritize unity and cooperation by setting aside Biblical truth. Papacy doesn't only aim to unite all churches under her. She wants to bring all non-Christian churches, the whole world under her.
Many have embraced ecumenism that has no place in Christianity. This path is not the path of truth. It is not the path of sanctification. It is a path that leads to destruction. (See Revelation 19:20,21)
When leaders from different denominations come together, they are not coming together in truth. They are exalting Sunday worship and the Eucharist. They are promoting spiritualism. They reject Bible truth.
This is what weakens the power of the gospel, the power of truth. This is the reason the churches have no spiritual power because they sacrifice truth. They have lost the power of truth. They have lost the power of the Holy Spirit. Hence, they have to resort to the state power to raise their church attendance. This is what the union of church and state will do by passing the National Sunday Law.
Let us cherish the truth, love the truth, be rooted in the truth, and obey the truth. And the truth will set us free from sins and transform us into the likeness of Christ.
Jesus is coming soon!
Maranatha!
Blessings! Big hugs!
